Chronic Disease Awareness Day
So many chronic diseases are invisible - that is, not immediately apparent to an outside observer - meaning that this issue affects more people than you might realise. The odds are high that you already know somebody with a chronic condition you may not even be aware of.
There are many misconceptions out there about people living with chronic disease, and about the best course of treatment for each condition. Did you know, for example, that chemotherapy is not just for people suffering from cancer? It can also be used to treat a range of chronic immune conditions, such as lupus, as well as certain blood disorders.
Ignorance surrounding the real-life experiences of chronically ill people can lead to dismissiveness or disbelief from those around them regarding their condition, which is not only hurtful but can make it even harder to deal psychologically with the illness itself. Chronic health conditions have already been linked to increased rates of depression and other mental health issues, and living in a world that doesn’t understand what you’re going through can make things even harder.
Here’s where we come in!
At Artery, we’re passionate about the work that we do on campaigns to raise awareness about lesser-known conditions. Knowledge is power, and we love that our ideas and our designs can contribute to campaigns which make a powerful difference in the lives of those living with chronic illness. If you’re curious about how we might be able to give your campaign a boost, contact us now at digital@artery.digital. Let’s get people talking about your cause!
